ECI's PreWeld™ System performs ohm tests and megaohm checks, as well as high voltage, mA leakage reports and a compressor winding test.

PreTest also starts the compressor at a computer-controlled voltage and records start voltage and running amps at a fixed point in time after the compressor starts.

After all tests have been run, PreTest records run times, tests performed and pass/fail results to a database.

Sequence of Operation:

• Operator connects unit to system

• Operator scans model/serial number

• Computer retrieves test procedure

• System performs ohm test on stator to verify correct stator for model

• System performs insulation megaohm check, records megaohm reading

• Applies hipot voltage and records mA leakage

• Starts compressor at computer-controlled voltage and records start voltage

• Records running amps at a fixed point in time after compressor starts

• Records time for compressor to build to specified cm hg vacuum

• Display Pass/Fail

• System prompts operator to enter defect code upon unit failure

• AC/DC Hipot (voltage set automatically by model)

• Peak starting current at low voltage

• Hipot ramp, dwell time

• Insulation resistance

• Ground bond

• Max delta PSI in set time

• Min PSI in max time for dwell time

• 24VAC non-destructive inspection (winding wiring verification)

• Peak pressure achieved and leak back pressure difference
